End of NDP!!!
Yes! Today is the end of my NDP duties! After a few weeks long of endless hard labour, I finally get to enjoy the incentives! 9 full days off! Well, during the NDP periods the guard duties by the Marina Bay and the building of the Dickson stand has really exhausted me but at the same time it left me some really nice memories. The night
sceneries were awesome and so were the fireworks. Just take a look at the photo I have taken, it's so beautiful... We manage to have some fun by the bay in e midst of doing our boring guard duties. We had steamboats in the nights and barbecue on the last night. My dear Frank TCB brought some nice food like fish balls, hotdogs and more... It was quite an experience, eating steamboats by the bay late in the night when the sea breeze blew in your face and you would have felt as
soothing as I did if you were there. Guarding the fireworks was really a chore man, what's more we were doing 48 hours shifts and by the second day most of us were walking zombies. Throughout the guard duties we lived in some pathetic tents and we were always praying for it not to rain. In the day we would play Uno and talk cock and try to do
some silly things like asking my platoon's dearest man Tan~~~~ to pose for a photo. Well, this is the most "shuai" pose he could possibbly come up with. It's not too bad is it? The sceneries by the bay were totally different in the day and the night. Most importantly I got to know my men better and I believe it's the same for them.
Besides the guard duties, I also went Tuas to do rigging. Those vehicles hanging from helicopters flying past Marina South were actually prepared by us at Tuas and flew from Tuas to Marina. All in all I think this NDP is really an once-in-a-lifetime experience and well I think once is enough...
